Tokyo Disney Toy Story Hotel Review

This was our first time staying at the Toy Story Hotel, and even before the trip, we made it extra special for our daughter by having her watch the Toy Story movies so she could recognize the characters. It definitely made the experience even more exciting for her! If you’re planning a Tokyo Disney trip, here’s what it’s like staying at the Toy Story Hotel and whether it’s worth it.

We stayed here as part of our Tokyo Disney Vacation Package—read my full review here.

After spending our first day at Tokyo Disneyland, we headed to the hotel to check in and rest for a bit. There was a staff member verifying room keys at the pathway - guiding guests on where to go, so make sure to have your package ready and let them know you’re checking in.

There’s a short uphill walk leading to the hotel, and along the way you’ll find a colorful outdoor play area that’s perfect for kids to run around and burn off some energy. You’ll see oversized toy action play figures of Toy Story character figures, which make for great photo ops. The whole area is vibrant and really brings the Toy Story theme to life.

Check-In Experience

The lobby at Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel is bright, colorful, and filled with fun toy-themed details—from the front desk to the ceiling, floors, and furniture.

Check-in was quick and easy, and we didn’t run into any issues. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the whole process felt very organized, making it easy to settle in after a long day at the park.

The Room

The room itself was simple but nicely themed. You can see Toy Story details throughout—from the walls to the bathroom—which made it fun without feeling overwhelming. It’s not a luxury stay, but it was comfortable enough for a short visit, especially since we spent most of our time in the park. It was also spacious enough for the three of us.

Dining & Amenities

As part of our package, we also had buffet breakfast included at the Lotso Garden Cafe on Day 2, which was a nice perk exclusive to guests staying at the Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel. The restaurant is themed around Lotso, featuring bright colors and character-inspired food, and is open for both breakfast and dinner. The seating area also offers views of Tokyo Bay, which adds to the experience.

In terms of other guest amenities, the Toy Story Hotel also has a couple of gift shops and a convenience store located right next to Lotso Garden Cafe. The main gift shop is near the lobby, making it easy to pick up souvenirs before heading out.

NOTE: Make sure to head down to the cafe a bit earlier than your reserved time, as the queue can get quite long, especially during peak hours.

Is the Toy Story Hotel Worth It?

Overall, staying at Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel for the first time was a fun and memorable experience, especially for families with kids. The theming is colorful and immersive, and it’s worth the experience, with the parks just a short distance away.

One of the biggest perks of staying at Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel was the dedicated Fantasy Springs Entrance to Tokyo DisneySea. Guests can enter after 10:00 AM, which meant we didn’t need to rush or line up at the main gate, making our park day much easier and more enjoyable.

That said, it’s not a luxury hotel—it’s more about fun, theme, and convenience rather than high-end comfort. But for a short stay, especially as part of a Disney-focused trip, it absolutely delivered.
