A Simple Bluey-Themed 5th Birthday Party at the Beach

Thank you."This year, we celebrated our daughter’s 5th birthday with a simple Bluey-themed beach party, and honestly, it was exactly what we wanted. Instead of spending weeks of planning elaborate decorations and activities, we focused on what she loves most - playing and spending time with family.
She’s been really into Bluey lately, and if you’ve watched the show, you know it’s all about family and making everyday moments special. A beach party felt like the perfect fit for her personality and for the spirit of the show.
To make the weekend extra special, we booked a staycation at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. One of the things we love about the resort is the lagoon, which gave the kids a safe place to splash, play, and enjoy the water. Between the sandy beach, calm lagoon, and beautiful ocean views.
Keeping Decorations Minimal
We intentionally kept decorations simple. Since the beach and lagoon already provided such a beautiful backdrop, we only added a few Bluey-themed touches to bring the theme together without overwhelming the space:

Beach Fun for Everyone
She and her cousins spent most of the party swimming in the lagoon, playing with beach toys, and building in the sand. There wasn't a need for organized games or activities because the beach provided endless entertainment. Letting kids play freely is often the best fun.
Party Food
For the party food, we kept things easy and family-friendly. We ordered food from Chun Wah Kam Noodle Factory, while some additional dishes were lovingly prepared and brought by her grandma. Having a mix of catered food and homemade favorites made it easy to feed everyone while still giving the gathering a personal touch.
One special request from the birthday girl was mini cupcakes from Target—her absolute favorite! They were a big hit with the kids and the perfect sweet treat for the celebration.
Of course, no birthday party is complete without cake. The Bluey-themed birthday cake, which I ordered from Tatiana, added a fun touch to the celebration and was the perfect way to mark our little girl turning five.

Goodie Bags for the Class
Since the beach party was mainly for family and cousins, she also requested goodie bags for her preschool classmates. She had a separate little birthday celebration at school, so we kept things simple and not too extravagant.
This year, I made a small effort to personalize the goodie bags by creating a coloring booklet using Canva. It was an easy but thoughtful addition, and it gave the kids something fun to take home and enjoy. I also bought a long reach stapler for assembling the booklet, and it worked perfectly!

A Bluey-themed birthday doesn’t have to be elaborate to be memorable. Our simple beach party reminded us that kids often remember the experiences more than the decorations. With a little Bluey inspiration, beautiful beach scenery, and plenty of playtime, we created a fun and meaningful 5th birthday celebration.
Sometimes, simple really is the best.
